Summer's End

As the summer is winding down, the anticipation for the season is increasing. Soon we will be showing eachother what shape we are in and we will be able to say goodbye to the lonely workouts and hello to the overly talkative OD's.

Before the summer closes, it does allow for one more training block of solid workouts. One more last string of quality workouts before our lifting comes with a loaded backpack. This is the time where you have to stay focused on the snowy days ahead. If this summer is any indication, we may be in for a snowy winter!

On another note, For myself, I just finished off a tough workout session in canada. It was an upper body workout full of kayaking, tubing, water skiing, etc. Rough I know! In the picture above is an Alumni from the Clarkson Nordic Team and former Captain, my brother, Chad Day. This was taken during a RNR Benchmark test. Another one is scheduled next week to see our improvement.

I hope everyone has been happy with their summer training so far, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone getting at it in the fall. When you have the sunshine, take advantage of it!

If this won't motivate you nothing will.

I just got some Splash Guards for my Sharks. Sharks hate getting splashed, with water. All I had to do to 'install' them was hack off the trailing end of my bindings, drill a hole in the aluminum shaft, then man-handle the screw into the metal. BAM! Now I can stay dry and look even cooler than ever before. I just noticed that my rollerski gear has a Lance Armstrong color scheme.

I took them out for a test drive, and am pleased with the results. I stayed 95% dry during my post-storm roller ski. All the dirt and grime that usually gets flung up on my boots and legs was noticeably absent.

My life once again has purpose.

On track?

It's July 3rd already, I can't believe it. Summer is going by too quick.

Hope the running, biking, swimming, roller skiing, soccer playing or whatever other activity you may be doing this summer is going well. Remember, the work you put in now will pay big dividends this fall and winter.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and not working too much (unlike me, I'm a slave to the bike shop. Use that as motivation to get out there and train so you can beat me next winter).
